The five members of Migrant Sounds standing together

About Migrant Sounds

About the band.

A Berlin music project founded by guitarist José Carlos Mayorga.

Migrant Sounds

Founded through the work of ARTivisten e.V. in Berlin.

The five permanent members have roots across Latin America. José Carlos Mayorga started the project; Isabella Bejarano Montes de Oca, Pablo Gómez, Luis “Gato” Lincheo and Greco Acuña play alongside him.

José Carlos is a self-taught guitarist from Guatemala. He also founded the cultural association ARTivisten e.V., which gives artists from different countries a stage in Berlin.

Migrant Sounds plays with guest artists from around the world. Their music draws on Latin American, African, Middle Eastern and European traditions.
